Sunrise at the Tip of India

Although several beaches on the East Coast of India offer an opportunity to view the rising sun, probably none can match the beauty and uniqueness of the view at the southernmost tip of India – Kanyakumari.The unique geography of the place also means that Kanyakumari is the only place in India which offers views of both Sunset and Sunrise. There are separate designated points in the town though to offer the best and most direct view of both the events. While the sunrise point is very close the main “center” where other attractions like the Triveni Sangam and the Kumari Temple, the sunset point is another beach about 2kms away along the Kovalam road.
