Relaxing in the Mangroves

The Sundarbans might be known for its tigers, but there is one more species which is as dangerous and powerful – the crocodiles. This one seems to be relaxing out in the sun, out of the water where it generally thrives.Note the roots of the trees coming out of the soil on the mud. This is a feature of the mangroves of this region, where the roots are forced to come out to get oxygen, the soil is too salty to contain any oxygen or nitrogen.
